Prepare Shock: Dangerous Mars

If ever people stay on Mars at least three years, they certainly have to survive the fall of a large meteorite hit and capacity of a megaton of TNT.

One obvious way to assess the chances of a future encounter with a meteorite impact - to look at the past. However, this task is not so simple, because the density and size of craters, survived for a long time, depending on many factors.

Scientists have uncovered the secret of the Bermuda Triangle

Vanishing of ships and aircraft in the Atlantic Ocean are due to methane gas that is released from the cracks of the antique plates. According to scientists gas turns into giant bubbles that reach the surface and "absorb" all that will meet them on the way.

Riddle of the Bermuda Triangle, "absorb" it gets into court, concerned mankind are more than half a century.

Behind the 2012

"On December 21, 2012, not the end of the world as we know it, however, is another winter solstice." That's how NASA denied the endless arguments about the "end of the world", and the reason is that I've heard of such a disaster have been so many that, in truth, not for science could not be so calm writing this article.

While we are on the eve of the expected December 21, I will make a top of the reasons why the world will not end, at least, in 2012, based on questions posed to NASA.

Have we caught in the act to the Venusians volcanoes?

The awareness of sulfur dioxide in the dense atmosphere of Venus is more than a million times higher than that found on Earth. On our planet, almost all of this pungent and toxic gas comes from volcanic eruptions.

For this reason, it is thought that the detected sulfur dioxide in the upper atmosphere of Venus, well above its cloud cover, must have been recently pumped from lower bounds.

NASA explore are preparing for the lunar landing

Lunar orbiting spacecraft, NASA, which allowed scientists to learn more about the internal structure and composition of the Moon, are preparing for a controlled landing on a mountain near the North Pole of the Moon on December 17. Probes are sent to the lunar surface on purpose, because their low orbit and the low fuel level prevent further scientific activities.

NASA wants to send a space satellite of Jupiter

NASA said that they think about how to send the unit to a satellite of Jupiter - Europe, which is the fourth largest moon, the largest planet in the solar system. One of the ideas is enclosed to send orbiter, which will make multiple flybys of the satellite and study it to find ice under the surface of the posterior probability of Europe Ocean.

In California, the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, claim that the Office coordinated the project advance the orbital unit around Europe.

China's space probe flew close to the asteroid Tutatis

NASA has found the use of the Moon: the ship graveyard

Permanent satellite of our planet - the moon has a significant impact on the process in the world. Effect of its gravity resolves the level of magnetic field strength, the ebb and flow in different parts of the world ocean. In addition, it is no secret that a certain phase of the moon can affect the health of people. However, it seems, will soon receive a satellite, another function,

Probe on Titan Cassini saw the 400-km-long river

Titan is the second largest satellite of the planet in the solar system, taking place after Ganymede. In this satellite contains about 95% of the mass of all the existing satellites of Saturn. Titan - the only moon in our system, which has a dense atmosphere, yet it is only companion, whose surface is almost impossible to see because of the thick layer of clouds.

Approximate fifty leading experts on climate science in the world have studied the thaw out of polar ice, which is the main reason for the increase in water level in the oceans. Space satellites have helped researchers identify how decline in volume of glaciers in the Arctic, Greenland and Antarctica. It turned out that the glaciers are melting three times faster than a couple of decades ago.

Galactic hobbits

What do we know about galaxies, Hobbits, and why they have such a peculiar name?

The name "hobbit galaxies" ("hobbit galaxy") - this is quite a new term used to describe galaxies that are smaller and dimmer than the dwarf galaxies. By the number of stars that inhabit such galaxies (hundreds of thousands of stars), these objects occupy an intermediate position between dwarf galaxies and star clusters.

In Mercury's polar craters found vast reserves of water

The American space survey Messenger has confirmed the existence of water ice in deep craters at the north pole of Mercury.

"It must be the last thing you might expect from the nearest planet to the sun - is water ice. But due to the low inclination of Mercury craters near the poles are in the shade all year, and there is extremely cold, "- explained Matthew Sigler's Jet Propulsion Laboratory NASA.
