Astronomers have discovered a new type of supernova

Previously it was thought that supernova typically have one of two main scenarios. But a team of astronomers, including Wendy Friedman, Mark Phillips and Eric Persson of Carnegie, reported the discovery of a new type of supernova, called type 1ah.

Astronomers used to divide supernova into two main categories: type 1a supernova and supernova occurring core-collapse. Supernova, accompanied by collapse of the core,

Hubble digs glowing galactic worm

Picture of a charming dazzling galaxy, recognized as IRAS 23436 5257, it was Space Telescope, NASA / European Space Agency "Hubble." This galaxy is located in the northern constellation Cassiopeia, which was named in honor of the arrogant, conceited, but, nevertheless, a beautiful mythical queen.

Cyclones on the icy moon of Saturn - Titan

Astronomer studies the possibility of the origin of cyclones over the surface of the largest moon of Saturn - Titan, indicating some similarities to the weather with the Earth. Saturn's moon Titan, whose surface is so cold that methane falls on her in the form of rain in the summer raises its temperature so that makes it possible for cyclone zipping above the seas. Marine evaporation is able to generate enough energy to produce wind, moving at a speed of 70 kilometers per hour. However, the formation of cyclones totally depends on what is the chemical composition of the seas of Titan.
