The night sky
If we see in the sky
and the stars are like our star map, we know that it is the hour of Capricorn -
the group Capricorn is then in the south. But at the same time it gives a feel
of autumn, because, although the summer group still almost in zenith are, but
also gain the typical autumn group in the east should climb.
The entire night sky
over central Europe. The stars are shown for the selected time. The cross at
center symbolizes the zenith, the point directly above your head.
In order to
observe the sky to the south, hold the star map as it appears on the screen, so
the icon for the South 'S' to the bottom and to keep your south. You can then
identify the stars between the screen and the peak of the cross. For easy
observation in other directions, you should print the map, and then turn each
of the desired direction on the map down. Jump star map in a separate window.
You can read the names
of bright stars and mist under your mouse cursor in the status bar of your
browser and in the textbox.
The star -position does
not exactly match the map with the actual stars, for this you should create
your own custom detailed star map and interactively explore the beauty of the
sky.
Walk in the sky
There is a saying
'Birds fly high, fish swim deep'. In late summer of this wisdom is true not
only for temporal relations, but also finds her own image in the sky.
The Swan and the Eagle
standing with their bright stars and the shimmering band of the Milky Way is
very high. In contrast, the fish and the Southern Fish are only slightly above
the horizon. Well, yes the dolphin is also a Marine life, but he is in our view
of the sky above the eagle - we look at the dolphin so as if he has just jumped
out of the water! In the southeast, the whale dives straight from the infinite
horizon on to snatch a few hours of fresh air.
At the hour of the
constellation Capricorn is at the highest point of his daily train - exactly in
the south. For Central Europe, he reached a very large horizon distance, and it
only consists of catenaries faint stars. Like even the main star (Alpha
Capricorni) reached only 4 brightness. Endowed with good and sharp eyesight,
this top right of the Capricorn star standing to be split at a closer look at
two components. In binoculars, the two stars of the binary star, however, are
clearly visible.
High in the east is a
striking, large rectangle - the winged horse Pegasus. With its wings it can
also serve as a confirmation of our aforementioned proverb. Extending the right
side of the square down, get the views of a lone star, Fomalhaut in the
constellation Piscis. The upper side of the square is extended gently curved
downwards to the left: the first stars in the Andromeda, then the main star of
the Perseus and ends on the brightest star in the northern hemisphere, at Capella
in the constellation Auriga .
At the hour of
Capricorn different things happen in the sky: on one hand passed to the west of
the bright star Arcturus (in the constellation Bootes), Capella (constellation
Auriga, Auriga) wins in the Northeast should climb and the remarkable star
cluster Pleiades is on the northeast horizon. At the time, the beautiful sky
objects in the summer triangle are the highest above our heads. So it's worth
spending the warm and often clear late summer evenings under the stars!
In the star map, the
areas prominent star clusters, the open clusters shown dotted with small
circles.
