The dramatic increase in oil and gas in the
United States could be causing the increase in the number of earthquakes
in that country.According to the conclusion of an investigation by
the U.S. Geological Survey, the number of earthquakes has increased six times. In
just three years, increased the number of earthquakes from 50 in 2009
to 134 in 2011.
Experts say some tremors may be caused by the
hydraulic fracturing method. This involves injecting a fluid mixture into
the ground to cause the release of natural gas, or oil .
