Since the planets in
the solar system formed from the same cloud of gas and dust that the star
itself, until recently, it was thought that the plane of their orbits must
coincide with the plane of rotation of the star. However, beginning in 2008,
astronomers began to find more and more exoplanets, which were in highly
inclined orbits and even reverse (counter-rotating) with respect to its star.

Curiosity SAM tool examines first piece of solid ground
Pinch of fine sand and
dust was the first solid Martian samples placed in the biggest tool of NASA's
Mars rover Curiosity: Sample Analysis at Mars, or SAM.
Inside the rover, SAM
determine the chemical composition of samples placed inside it, special
attention is paid to the search for fragments, which could indicate the former
presence of the world traces of organic life. Curiosity robotic arm delivered
to the inlet of the tool SAM, located on the deck of the rover, a sample of
Martian soil on 9 November.
In the galaxy NGC 1365 emerge bright blue supernova
Very bright supernova
lit galaxy NGC 1365, also known as the Great Barred Spiral Galaxy, visible to
observers from the Southern Hemisphere. This elegant galaxy lies at a distance
of approximately 56 million light-years away in the constellation Fornax. SNe
Ia, in question, was opened by Alain Klotz with the telescope of TAROT La Silla
Observatory, Chile, October 27, 2012
Supernova 2012fr a
vivid, deep blue star, located directly under the center of the galaxy. The
author of this picture, Rolf Olsen Bullock, said November 10, 2012, this
supernova was close to its maximum brightness, reaching a magnitude in the
color bar R, equal to 11.90.
Garbage of detonate Russian missile threat space satellites and ISS
On the way from the
International Space Station and other space vehicles that move at a relatively
short distance from the Earth, a new threat - a cloud of more than 500 pieces,
formed by the explosion of the Russian upper stage.
The explosion in orbit
rocket engine "Breeze-M" was the third explosion engine for our
country, starting in 2007; engines were left in elliptical orbits that
intersect the ISS and some satellites.

46th Week - auroras in Lofted
In the week 22 ranged
Manfred Kiau up an Adwa on Sun. "The sun is something going on," it
said. Now he has, Ulrich Teschke, Frank Gasparini and Elisabeth Kollner taken a
Northern Lights excursion. In the period from 08 to 21.10.2012, the trip went
to the Lofted Islands. This archipelago lies in the far north of the Norwegian
Atlantic coast, beyond the 68th Latitude. The aim of the observer group was
there to document the effects of solar activity in the terrestrial atmosphere:
auroras as photogenic, best with reflections in the water.
Six seconds comet collision
The 192 light years
distant star 49 Cetin is surrounded by a huge ring of comets, which occurs
about every six seconds in a collision. With these circumstances, two American
astronomers solve an unsolved problem for 17 years: the star is surrounded by a
cloud of unusual carbon monoxide. The comet collisions release the gas, the
researchers said in the journal "Astrophysical Journal."Stars young and old?
This colorful view of the globular cluster NGC 6362 has been with the Wide Field Imager on the ESO / MPG 2.2-meter telescope was added to the ESO La Silla Observatory in Chile. Together with a new recording of the central region of the cluster, which has delivered the Hubble Space Telescope by NASA and ESA, this picture conveys the best to date view of this little-known globular cluster. The majority of stars in globular clusters is very old. In this bunch there are also some stars that act unusually young.
