Using the lessons
learned from the mission "Apollo" and robotic missions sent to Mars,
NASA scientists and engineers study the problems and dangers associated with
landing on other planets.
The new technology is
called "vertical takeoff - a vertical landing." According to the
group, operating within the design and technology of NASA's Kennedy Space
Center, Florida, the best approach to planning involves landing on a
predetermined spot landing area.
