Naked black widow star with orbital period shorter

Although Earth takes 365 days to complete its orbit, the newly discovered pulsar does PSRJ1311-3430 in just 93 minutes, making it the neutron star in a binary system with the shortest orbital period calculated to date. It is also the first discovery of a millisecond pulsar conducted through its gamma-ray emission.

The peculiarities of this new order they are listed in the journal Science.

How much water is on Earth?

How much water do you think there are on Earth? Approximately 70% of the surface of the Earth is covered by water, and oceans contain about 96.5% of all water from the planet. The Earth will not end in 2012

On December 31, the Gregorian calendar did something frightening. He spent the years 2011 to 2012. What we experience as the year came to an end? Earthquakes? Globally? A planetary collision? Space reactors

The cooling system of a nuclear reactor with heat pipes can be used during space flight.

A group of researchers from LANL, NASA and NSTec (USA) established the use of heat pipes for cooling a small nuclear reactor that drives the Sterling engine. The system can be used as a dependable energy source for space vehicles.

The universe grows like a giant brain

The study, conducted by a team of scientists led by Dmitry Kryukov, a physicist from the University of California, San Diego, show that some as yet undiscovered, fundamental laws can control the growth of both small and large systems, from the transmission of nerve impulses between brain cells and the growth of social networks and to expanding galaxies.
